Michael's most recent theatre project was McKenna's Fort (written by Arnold Thomas Fanning, directed by Paul Kennedy), a brand new play about Roger Casement. It was first staged in the New Theatre Dublin as part of their Centenary Commemoration. The play was very well received and was invited to be in the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival 2016 where Michael was nominated for the Micheál Mac Liammóir award for best male performance. Michael's other one man show, the popular and cricial success, Down by the River (written & directed by Paul Kennedy), toured various venues and festivals ending in a month long run in Bewley's Cafe Theatre.

In his previous life as a musician, Michael was the lead singer and guitarist in Dublin bands Vis a Vis and Jabel who played regularly at The Baggot Inn, Charlie's Bar, JJ Smyths, and The Ivy Rooms in the 80's and early 90's. Michael studied at Trinity College Dublin and has trained at the Focus Stanislavsky Studio.
